Here, it’s much easier to find homes in the under-$300,000 categories than it is in Denver and other near suburbs.In the 80233 zip code, which is mostly Northglenn but also includes a bit of Thornton, the median list price is a mere $278,000. Young homebuyers are playing a significant role in the Northglenn real estate market. Research shows the millennials were responsible for 36 percent of mortgages in the market in 2016. Northglenn began as a master-planned community back in the late 1950s/early 1960s, but the city has continued to grow and adapt. A lot of focus is placed on creating a fun, family-friendly environment. Recent development projects included bringing in new restaurants and businesses to Webster Lake Promenade. And new events have sprung up, including the fall Pirate Festival and the spring Food Truck Carnival. There is a new mixed-use project underway to redevelop the city’s municipal campus to bring in new recreation centers and the D.L. Parsons Theater. Northglenn connects to Denver via light rail service on the RTD N Line.
