Littleton is a Home Rule Municipality contained in Arapahoe, Douglas, and Jefferson counties. Littleton is a suburb of the Denver-Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area. Littleton is the county seat of Arapahoe County and the 20th most populous city in the state of Colorado. The population was 41,737 at the 2010 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.9 square miles (36.1 km²), of which, 13.5 square miles (35.0 km²) of it is land and 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²) of it (2.95%) is water.
