These properties will be able to accommodate a total of seven million square feet of commercial development. Over two million square feet of office, commercial, and industrial space have been built. Highlands Ranch is currently home to more than 2,000 businesses employing in excess of 19,000 people, many of who live right in the community.

Being an unincorporated entity, the area enjoys one of the lower tax rates of 5.1% in Metro Denver.
